In this final year of NCEA Dance students will work towards University Entrance, as well as outfitting themwith the skills and understanding to lead them into future Dance pathways. Specifically students will:
Becoming a Versatile Dancer
Students will learn and perform a repertoire of three contrasting dances based on their global and localinfluence on current dance practices and trends. The dances will be selected based on the strengths andgrowth areas of the class. The focus will be on dancing in a manner appropriate to the style of each piece.
Produce a Dance to Realise a Concept
Students will individually choreograph, design and present a dance based on an idea about tūrangawaewaethat is 2-4 minutes long. Students will connect with students from other year groups in order to cast their piece.
