Creative and Performing Arts

Nau mai Harae mai, welcome to the Cashmere High School Creative and Performing Arts Faculty.

The Creative Arts at Cashmere are rigorous, academic pursuits suited to students who embrace risk-taking, and imaginative exploration.

Students study the Arts through; performance, practical work, composition and devising; research and historical contexts along with inquiry and innovation.

They do this in an inclusive, creative and collaborative environment under the guidance of staff who are specialist practitioners in their fields. Arts programmes continue through NCEA Levels 1-3 NCEA as well as University Entrance and Scholarship subjects.

The Creative Arts Faculty also encompasses Co-Curricular activities that are closely aligned with classroom practices. Co-Curricular Music, Drama, and Art opportunities are offered by expert practitioners. Students in the Arts are encouraged to participate in external competitions, festivals, exhibitions, performances and master classes, all of which enhance their classroom learning.
